Generation halls take shape as the summer build accelerates

Summer construction at AHI is at full pace. Structural steel is up on the generation halls, electrical rooms are advancing, and the first Rolls-Royce mtu packages are in place on their rails.

The sequence from here is energy first: gensets and mechanical, then the electrical and motor-control-centre energization sequence, then fibre and network, then hall fit-out. Each workstream is tracked and published on the live progress tracker in the newsroom.

Between 20 and 100 Alberta trades are on site at any given time, hired locally first. Precast, sound-walled buildings — the as-built design goes beyond the modelled acoustic design with precast concrete and sound walls.

First power remains targeted for 2027, with the first Secure Data Halls ready for racks and GPUs in the same year. A separate 138 kV grid connection is in development for 2028–2029.
