AHI has confirmed direct-to-chip (DTC) closed-loop liquid cooling as the primary cooling architecture for its Secure Data Halls. Coolant runs straight to the chips in a sealed loop, recirculates continuously, and nothing evaporates.

The decision settles the water question for good: the campus uses zero municipal water. Any water used on site is captured, cleansed and reused. Heat rejection uses Alberta’s climate — free cooling at 52.3°N for most of the year.

The halls are designed to operate at a PUE of 1.10–1.18 — against typical market PUE of 1.3–1.5 — with a single-phase immersion option from PUE 1.04 for customers who want it. Cooling is engineered to OEM specification, warranty-safe for Blackwell / Vera Rubin-class silicon.

Waste heat does not go to waste. It is engineered to catalyze year-round agritech on the campus — the food-security pillar of the master plan.
