Winter build: civil works and generation halls underway at Blindman

Construction of AHI’s first phase is underway at Blindman Industrial Park. Heavy civil works — earthworks, roads and site servicing — are being delivered by Volker Stevin, one of Alberta’s most experienced civil contractors, with civil site engineering and stormwater design by ISL Engineering, including flood-plain confirmation for the lands.

The buildings are the precast, sound-contained industrial structures GGA-Architecture is known for; M3 Development Management coordinates design, schedule and the third-party sound-study program on the owner’s side.

Hiring is local first: a Red Deer general contractor with subtrades from Blindman, Burnt Lake and Blackfalds. Between 20 and 100 trades are on site at any given time through construction, and 120+ Albertans are engaged across the wider project team.

“This is Alberta money, invested and risked here,” said Sunny Sarpal, CEO & Founder. “Not a branch-plant budget — our own capital, put to work in Central Alberta first.”
