Red Deer County approves first-phase land use and development at Blindman

Red Deer County’s Municipal Planning Commission has approved land use and development for AHI’s first phase at Blindman Industrial Park. The approval was granted through the County’s public process — the right project, in an established industrial park.

The first phase is 10 MW: land, on-site generation and a Secure Data Hall shell. Environmental clearance for the initial generation phases (the first 20 MW) was granted in 2025; the 30 MW review is in progress. Every further 10 MW increment earns its own permits before it is built.

Sound compliance is a condition of the approval, and one AHI engineered in from day one: the campus must meet Alberta Utilities Commission Rule 012 permissible sound levels at every nearby home. Independent acoustical studies continue through every phase, and AHI has committed to measure real-world noise at 10 MW and again at 30 MW — adapting the design before growing further.

With approvals in hand and long-lead generation secured, the project moves to construction.
